LinkYep, it's a thousand bucks plus tax. This is part of the reason why I envy the PS3 so much.

This just shows that the PS3 is a good deal with the blue ray.
I'm not really sure if blue ray will take off though.

It will. At the rate tech is advancing, it's just a matter of time until developers need more space to expand on their works.

I was at hhgregg looking at there hd tvs. There was a 1080p tv running a dvd off blueray and a 720p tv running hd-dvd. Surprisingly the 720p tv had better quality even on a lower resolution. To bad they dident have the hd-dvd on a 1080p tv =P.

Blu-Ray will inded take off. No doubt about it. Remember that is almost exactly what dvd players cost when they came out.
I spent only 700 on the one in my computer though. Well actually i think that was a gift but anywho.

That is were sony screwed up. They are taking a 200 dollar hit, then expecting games and such to help generate revenue. The game compenys will have to use the money they earn to pay for servers if they have an online game... The only place left for sony to make money would be spare controllers and component cables.

Blu_ray is amazing, if it were just a bit cheaper it'd smash everything else to bits.
