No flaming.
Just hardcore debating.
I IS RHYMING!
Personally, I believe each has its strengths and weaknesses. PS3 is a good investment if you have the cash, Wii's just plain fun, and the 360 is has Halo 3.

Current Order: 360 - Wii - PS3
In two years: 360 - PS3 - Wii
I think it's pretty clear that Wii is a bit of a gimmick and although it is really fun now, it will eventually get old after a few years.
PS3 has HUGE potential, but the price and some issues are putting it behind. It almost seems like PS3 is a generation ahead. If they play their cards right, they could top the market in a few years, but it may be too late.
360 is the best bet simply because it has EVERY type of game and it is grabbing some exclusives from the PS3.

PS3 is my choice because of all that it offers. Just too much to miss out on. I don't care about the cash, I want the performance. Games like MGS4 cannot be missed.
Wii is great for such a reasonable price. As I said before, price is not a matter for me but I find the Wii to be a great video gaming machine.
I respect the 360 for one and only one reason. Halo 3. Do I have to say more?

Quacker has had some points.
Now just being a Nintendo fan that doesn't mean I don't know anything about the other Video game systems.
Wii for a cheap price has some great games and even greater features (channels, if you will). I mean there is weather, news, internet, photoes. That could only get better in the years to come. Can't forget Virtual Console. We all loved those old games (well most of us) what could be better than playing them now? The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess is probaly on the list of one of the Top 10 Games of all time (we all can agree on that one if you played it; that list includes the Halo and Grand Theft: Auto series). The Mii thing is all fun but, in a few years I wouldn't care too much for it anymore because there just a created caricapture to use in some games (Wii Play, Wii Sports)
PS3 has the potential to be the best. But with a price that high would stop it for getting any sales in the beginning. Now the future... The PS3 price tag would drop down alot and have alot more kickass games. It's got alot of extra media (Blueray DVD player, music player)
XBox 360 I believe has a good kickstart because it released earlier. But without Halo 3 do you really think the XBox 360 would be as popular? I doubt it. Then again, 360 is getting it so that ends that. 360 has the potential to stay up in the market for years.
But I am a Nintendo fan and I love the Nintendo Wii currently, so this is why I think the Nintendo Wii is on top (No, not because I have the Wii; look at the reasons above)

Yeah, I agree with Quacker.
360>Wii>PS3
But later on, maybe when the price of PS3 drops, it'll be: PS3>360>Wii

I remember when the 5th gen systems started it was:
Nintendo 64 > Playstation > Sega Dreamcast
and ended being:
Playstation > Sega DreamCast > Nintendo 64
Last gen it started with:
XBox > Gamecube > PS2
ended with
PS2 = Xbox > Gamecube
Things change radically guys. Even with the handheld systems:
PSP > GBAmicro > NintendoDS
now:
NintendoDS > PSP > GBAmicro

I remember when the 5th gen systems started it was: Nintendo 64 > Playstation > Sega Dreamcast and ended being: Playstation > Sega DreamCast > Nintendo 64 Yet Dreamcast ended in a huge mess and ended Sega making consoles. Looks a bit like Sony. o__o

How could you pass up XBL? Plus: Alan Wake, BioShock, Fable 2, Forza 2, Gears Of War, Halo 3, Lost Planet, and Mass Effect are all 360 exclusives (atleast the last time I checked they were). i cant name two games on the PS3 or Wii that I want to play that are exclusive. Also, i dont think I will ever pay $600 for a video game system, blu-ray is going to fail anyways. The Wii just seems too childish.

All though i also have a wii so i will have to disagree on the wii part =P. I used to think the exact same thing about the wii untill i was offered the chance to play it, now i love it =P. As for the 360 it is amazing. I think ign said it was about 15 new exclusive first person shooters coming to the 360 during 2007. Holy crap 15! Xbox live is the best. I dont mind paying for a subscription just because it is so much fun, and all the stuff you have access too. Plus if there is one thing, one MAJOR thing the ps3 is lacking is a universal friends list. I dont want a dashboard friends list, a resistance fall of man friends list, a call of duty 3 friends list... no no no, i want a universal friends list were it is easy to communicate no matter were you are at. You can be playing single player, online, watching a video or whatever. Also the gamercards are sweet. I love being able to see what other games people have played and how many achievements they have gotten and what not. Plus being able to to send messages and receive messages from and to xbox live from a pc is sweet. And let me correct the last gen systems It started: ps2 > gamecube > xbox *VERY SHORT LIVED* then ps2 > xbox > gamecube then finally xbox > ps2 > gamecube The only time gamecube was in second was before it was released and people had such high hopes for it. Then for most of the beginning the ps2 offered more then all the other systems untill xbox started creating great exclusives such as halo. Now with the 360 you can not beat all of its exclusives. Current gen systems: 360 > wii > ps3 Will be: 360 = wii > ps3 Just personal opinions. ~dan

I am sick and tired of hearing the Wii is childish. It has a fine selection of Games ranging from E - M. May not have as much Mature games like the PS3 and XBox 360. But it certainly has it's fair share of Teen and Mature rated games.

Dan, you are VERY wrong. 6th Gen ended with PS2 at the top, seeing as how games stopped being produced for the original XBox a year ago, and PS2 still has new exclusives coming out each week.

No. There are still new xbox games being made. But the last gen ended when the 360 came out marking the beginning of the next gen. ~dan

I pick te Wii over everything else because it is the most original. It has motion sensor to put you more into the game ranther than the normal controller every system has. The other systems I have nothing to say about because I don't know that much about them. Wii>Ps3>360 (always been a xbox hater )
